Ft. Worth Texas is known as Cowtown, but changes made to the downtown area is recent years has expanded possibilities for residents and visitors alike.

Of course, the classic image is still a place "where the west begins" and the mural picture below is a representation of the rich history of Ft. Worth...

Like many cities, life in the downtown area died when office workers went home at 5 PM. The Bass Brothers, Ft. Worth's "home-grown" billionaire family, wanted to breath life back into the flailing downtown area. Housing for the downtown area, something long missing from Ft. Worth, was added with luxury condos. And you can't forget the "Sundance Square" idea from the Bass Brothers, bringing restaurants, movie theatres, shopping and the arts to entice evening and weekend visitors.

And then the crown jewel for performing arts came with the Nancy Lee and Perry R Bass Performance Hall. This combined several area theatre, symphony, and ballet groups under one location. And also gave a downtown venue for concerts. The Bass Hall is not just a venue, though; it's a treat of visual beauty for visitors.

So, whether you're a Texas Native or want an enjoyable place to visit, consider Downtown Ft. Worth as an enjoyable destination.
