Journey

For once, I'm not on an airplane.

Instead, I am at a Barnes and Noble…about 1000 miles from home. I am appreciating the un-December-ish weather the East Coast is enjoying…

We are once again approaching the end of a year and the beginnings of another. In looking back at 2006, I feel I have had a wonderful year – filled with much growth. But I know there is always room to grow as a person.

All Things Girl is continuing to grow, too – and I want to thank everyone for their support.

While out sight seeing yesterday, I approached a young lady who was taking photos for a college class about submitting her work to All Things Girl. I saw the interest in her eyes as she talked with me – about the opportunity to share something of herself.

I hope that YOU see All Things Girl as a way to share pieces of yourself – as well as find the pieces of other women…. We are always looking for ways to expand, and I invite all the readers to continue to submit to any and all sections. I'm also game to look at guest columnists for this section (On a Girl's Mind) as well as our Well Rounded Women section….

I know that my column is short this month. I am once again suffering from writer's block and am struggling with how to get my groove back. It will come to me, I know…in time…but it doesn't make me less patient about my muse hiding. I'm trying – and still attempting to write – and that is what is important – the attempt at my craft.

But once again, I am thankful for a wonderful 2006 – and am anticipating life as we move to 2007. I hope you will continue to come along for the journey with me, the other editors, and the wonderful contributors of All Things Girl

And as with any journey, don't forget to write….

The piece of yourself you share may just be what someone else is looking for in her own personal journey in this thing called life.
